Principles of Oncology for Cancer Registry Professionals  Our flagship program in its 25th year is a concentrated five-day training program in cancer registry operations and procedures emphasizing accurate data collection methods. The training program includes extensive site-specific, hands-on case coding, abstracting and staging sessions using practice cases that are representative of the many situations registrars may face.

Advanced Concepts in Abstracting and Coding  This 2-day program offers attendees continuing education in abstracting cancers of challenging primary sites and coding difficult cases.  The course material is changed each year to focus on topics of current interest.  The workshop is intended for experienced registrars who desire to enhance their skills.  Learn more.
 

CTR Exam Preparation Workshop is a 3-day course specifically designed to prepare certification exam candidates for the current exam content.  This expanded workshop format includes

  • Review of the site-specific CS rules for each of the sites that may be tested on the CTR exam

  • Review of multiple primary and histology coding rules for hematopoietic and solid tumors

  • Discussion of the answers for CS case scenario exercises

  • Review of Commission on Cancer standards

  • Review of cancer statistics and epidemiology

  • Review of data presentation and interpretation methods

  • A practice CTR test and review of answers
