Hotel and Classroom Information

Reservations for hotel rooms at this group rate must be made by the cut-off date shown above.   Reservation requests from students received after that date will be accepted on a space available basis, at the higher of the contract rate or rate available at that time.  Contact the Resident Inn directly at (816) 741-2300.

A full hot breakfast is provided by the hotel, as well as, a light dinner with beer and wine.  Lunch will be your own.  There are some nearby restaurants to walk to or the instructor will assist in ordering out for the whole class.  The hotel will also provide a shuttle service so students can go to a local grocery store so you can cook in the sleeping rooms' full kitchen.

Travel Information

The Residence Inn is approximately six miles from the Kansas City International Airport and is served by many major airlines, including United, American, Delta, and Southwest..

If you fly into the KCI Airport, go to Hotel Board, located at the Baggage Claim Area in each terminal.  Call our hotel, and the operator will tell you the estimated arrival time of the hotel van outside of that terminal building.  They will advise you to cross the street and wait for the van at the transportation/shuttle hut.  The shuttle is also available to take students from the hotel to shopping or dining.

Note: Friday is scheduled as a full class day. Please do not make return travel arrangements earlier than 6:00 pm. This may require an extra night’s hotel stay.

What to Pack

We suggest that you bring comfortable, casual clothes—jeans are OK. It would be a good idea to bring a sweater or jacket for class. The classroom has centrally controlled heat and air conditioning, and the temperature in the room can vary substantially during the day.

We suggest that you bring a rolling suitcase or luggage “wheelies” to transport your notebooks and reference materials between your sleeping room and the classroom.
